Cathy Fry Biography

Cathy Fry has over 30 years of teaching and training experience in South Africa. She was principal of two top independent junior girls’ schools in Johannesburg. Cathy’s expertise lies in ECD and primary education as well as whole school improvement and curriculum development. Cathy completed her second Master’s Degree with Professor Murris at the University of the Witwatersrand where she was introduced to Philosophy of Children. She continued working in this field becoming a Level 1 trainer and has been a member of the Philosophy for Children Training Committee South since 2013.

Since 2012, Cathy has run her own teacher development company, Ukhanyiso Ebantwini (Pty) Ltd. She is currently working with the British Council facilitating the Connecting Classrooms Programme which introduces school leaders and teachers to 21st Century Teaching and Learning and she has been involved in School Leadership and Management training at the Thandulwazi Trust at St Stithian’s from 2012 to the present. She is also the service provider for a project in Limpopo training 200 ECD teachers in the level 5 Higher Certificate and Diploma Early Childhood Development qualifications and she is an independent schools evaluator for Umalusi.
